Nothing gets quoted without a walk of the site. Where does the water go? That question comes before any talk about surface.
A full build means checking the subgrade, grading it right, and pitching the slope so runoff heads away from your garage slab instead of pooling against it. Soil around town swings from sandy to stubborn clay depending on where you are, and that swing changes the base depth we call for. Any digging is part of building the driveway, not something we sell separately.
Base still solid? An overlay buys you years at a fraction of the cost. When the old surface has alligatored across most of the drive, tearing it out is simply the truthful call.
