Masterson paving made having our driveway repaved a great experience. All the workers were polite and respectful and addressed all of our concerns. We are so happy with the results. Not only did they pitch the new driveway to fix our water issues, we no longer have water in our basement. I will recommend them to everyone that needs paving done.

The new driveway is too cool. The crew did a great job. They were very nice and such hard working group of guys. The price to pave the driveway was cheaper than the local guys and with quality. They leveled the driveway and pour a few inches of asphalt down. Looking forward to a Winter season that I can use the snowblower and easy shoveling.

Trusted Asphalt Contractor in Wrentham, MA

All it takes is one February thaw. Water works its way under a thin blacktop mat, freezes again, and pops the whole thing off the base like a scab. Every spring we get those calls from South Street and the older lanes hanging off Route 1A.

Big paving companies slot home driveways in as filler between the jobs they actually care about. Prep gets skipped, the mat goes down thin, and by the third winter that homeowner is dialing somebody else’s number.

That mismatch is why David Gaboury and Eric Matheson started this outfit in 2018. We run out of Providence Street in Woonsocket, roughly 25 minutes out via Route 126 and I-495. Call 401-579-4665 for a free estimate, or start at mastersonpaving.com.

Why Wrentham Homeowners Call Us First

Wrentham keeps us busy because the housing stock is all over the map. Farmhouses from the 1800s near the common. Split levels off Franklin Street. Newer subdivisions spreading out toward the Premium Outlets. A quarter-mile rural drive and a two-car suburban apron are completely different animals, and we plan each one that way.

  • Specialized on purpose. No highway contracts, no municipal road bids. Driveways are it.
  • Machines that fit. Compact pavers and rollers slip between stone walls and old maples without chewing up the grass.
  • Honest numbers. Whatever the written scope says is what you pay. Nothing gets tacked on once the trucks roll in.
  • Owner run since 2018. The guy answering your questions owns the company.
  • A Google Verified business, registered and insured in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Our mission is to give Massachusetts and Rhode Island homeowners the best driveway paving experience available, without the markup a giant contractor carries. See what a properly built drive involves under our residential asphalt driveway paving services.

Asphalt Services for Wrentham Properties

Nothing gets quoted without a walk of the site. Where does the water go? That question comes before any talk about surface.

Newly installed asphalt driveway pitched away from the garage

New Asphalt Driveway Installation

A full build means checking the subgrade, grading it right, and pitching the slope so runoff heads away from your garage slab instead of pooling against it. Soil around town swings from sandy to stubborn clay depending on where you are, and that swing changes the base depth we call for. Any digging is part of building the driveway, not something we sell separately.

Before and after of a worn driveway replaced with fresh hot mix asphalt

Driveway Replacement and Hot Mix Resurfacing

Base still solid? An overlay buys you years at a fraction of the cost. When the old surface has alligatored across most of the drive, tearing it out is simply the truthful call.

Pothole patched with fresh asphalt

Asphalt Patching and Crack Repair

Between frost heaves and the salt trucks, small cracks widen in a hurry. Address them while they're small and spring runoff never reaches your base.

Small business parking lot paved by Masterson Paving

Parking Lot Paving in Wrentham

Small lots for local shops and churches, we do those too. Same crews, same written scope. Home driveways are still the bread and butter, so call and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.

Local Experience Near Wrentham

Blackstone Village grew up around the mills and the rail junction, and the housing stock reflects it. The worker tenements along St. Paul Street went up on narrow lots with driveways to match. Short single-car strips. Property lines close enough that a careless crew clips a neighbor’s fence getting in.

That is the job we’re built for. Our equipment goes where a highway paver can’t, and anywhere a machine genuinely can’t reach, the crew hand-works it.

The other village-specific issue is the apron. With houses set close to the road, your driveway meets public pavement almost immediately, which means apron condition drives the whole project more often than it would out in the country.

How to Pick an Asphalt Contractor in Wrentham

Before anybody compares dollar figures, ask three questions: base depth, mat thickness, compaction method. Any bid that dodges those is hiding something behind a low number. This guide to choosing an asphalt contractor walks through the same questions we tell homeowners to ask us.

Permits and Curb Cuts

Repaving what’s already there usually needs no permit. Widening the drive or cutting new access at the road is different, and who signs off depends on which road you’re on.

  • Town roads: approval goes through the Town of Wrentham
  • State highways: work inside the layout needs a MassDOT highway access permit
  • State routes through town: Route 1A and Route 140, among others

We sort that out before anything gets scheduled.

Timing and Curing

Ground temperature, not air temperature, is what really governs a good lay down in this corner of Norfolk County. Mid-April through late October is the window, and most regional plants shut down by early to mid-November.

  • Stay off it on foot for 24 hours
  • Keep vehicles off for 3 to 5 days, longer in a heat wave
  • No hard turning in one spot for about a month
  • Give it 30 days before you park a loaded trailer on it
  • Swap a steel plow edge for rubber or poly that first winter
  • Use sand instead of salt through the first season

Frequently Asked Questions About Paving in Wrentham

  • Can you work in the tight driveways off the older Wrentham streets?

Yes. Everything we run is sized for house lots. Stone walls and narrow garage approaches near the common are routine for us.

  • How much does a new asphalt driveway cost in Wrentham?

Most residential replacements land between $5 and $8 per square foot, with overlays running less. Square footage, base condition, and grading all move the number. Estimates cost you nothing and come in writing.

  • Do I need a permit for driveway paving in Wrentham?

Repaving what's already there, usually not. Widening or a new curb cut often yes. Town roads go through the Town of Wrentham, state routes like 1A and 140 go through MassDOT.

  • How long does a driveway take to finish?

One to two days for most single-family jobs. Stay off it on foot for 24 hours and keep vehicles off for 3 to 5 days.

  • How soon can you get out to Wrentham?

Usually within a few days. Peak season fills up, so calling early beats calling in July.
